Croydon Radio – Hark1karan feature on Storyline show
Vas Trajkovski hosts a weekly show called Storyline on Croydon Radio and kindly invited me to contribute around the theme of transition. I decided to focus on Croydon and how it is changing alongside London. My contribution comes 45 min into the show.
The show is a great way to learn about Croydon and the various people it represents via anecdotes.
Presenter of Storyline, Vasil stitches the ambient sounds, conversations and anecdotes of Croydon residents to create a tapestry of unique mini stories.
Hauling 1000s of handmade magazines packed with tales and commentary around London in the noughties, Vasil started his storytelling career in print, before realising it was easier on his legs if he got Wifi.
Away from Croydon Radio, he assists organisations communicate better online, helping them tell their stories and get their messages heard.
The first contribution came from Julio Cesar Osorio an artist who talks about his time in prison and how painting was a part of that experience. An interesting story backed up by some amazing artwork. I have included two examples of his wonderful work below. Check out his work here – http://www.juliocesarts.com/
The second contribution comes from the Silver Rainbow organisation in South Norwood, a group for older gay people who meet twice a month for lunch. More details here – http://www.silverrainbow.org.uk/
The show is broadcast monthly on a Saturday at Midday for an hour. Tweet Vas @UglyTwinProd
