Record Store Day 2015: DnR Vinyl – Croydon – Photos
‘Everyday is Record Store Day’ at DnR Vinyl! DnR made #RSD into a celebratory party. A day of back-to-back sets from local Dj’s and underground legends. Punters and Dj’s alike passed through during the course of the day. Free drinks added to vibes and brought two generations of house/garage ravers together. Everyone was welcome down and for those who wanted to shop, there was 50% off everything in the crates (what more could you ask for?). Sounds covering everything around house and UKG.
Local favourite Dj Dougie kicked of proceedings (Midday) by broadcasting his show on D3EP Radio Network live from the shop. We continued onto Dougie’s own show as we entered The Underground Sessions. I jumped on for 30min with loads of early house bangers. After that Benny Ill of Horsepower Productions treated us to some of his classics on wax of course. Following that DnR Dan jumped on with Dougie for a back-to-back, bringing us a mix of old and new. It was now after 3pm and Dj Okie (Alexis Llody) jumped on to bring us classic UKG from the vinyl vaults. Around 4pm Perception treated us to dubplates (yes dubplates) of his new material alongside a selection of deeper classics. Sadly at this point I had to depart. The remainder of the day was finished of nicely by Passion, NZ and the legend that is El-B, one half of Groove Chronicles fame. The sun was shining and everyone brought positive vibes throughout the day. Goes to show how vinyl can bring people together.
Shout out all who made it down and props to Dan for arranging it all. Listen to an interview I done with him at the end of last year – Living with Vinyl – Dan DnR Vinyl.
